Asian Pacific region tops global office attendance rates: JLL
In the Apac region, Taiwan leads with employees participating in the office 4.7 days a week, followed by India (4.4 days), South Korea (4.2 days), Japan (3.8 days), and Singapore (3.4 days). Thailand records a weekly office appearance of 3.3 days, while Australia remains at 3.1 days.
Generally, employees around the world put in merely over three days each week in the office, with peak presence on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, claims JLL. It includes that variations in office attendance throughout different industry are mainly thanks to a mix of social nuances, living setups and many other structural factors.

JLL’s research indicates that, regardless of an international go back to the office, Asia Pacific (Apac) employees remain in the work enviroment than their likes in the United States and UK. In a Dec 1 press release, the consultancy mentions that whilst office appearance in the US and UK averages about 2 days a working week, Apac nations demonstrate greater participation, equating over four days per week.
As in-office assumptions continue, office participation is expected to escalate. JLL includes that workers appreciate the workplace as a hub for socialisation, innovation and professional growth. “The office has actually been, and will still be, main to work experience and culture,” claimed Susheel Koul, JLL’s chief executive officer of work designs, Asia Pacific.
New workplace presence directives and emerging hybrid protocols have caused employees spending more time in the workplace. A year-long survey carried out by JLL throughout over 20,000 office workers internationally shows that since 1H2023, 80% of workers were spending 3 or even more days per week in the office, compared to 51% in 1H2022 and 59% in 2H2022. “Generally, most international organisations around the world (87%) are encouraging their employees to work from the office at the very least some of the time,” JLL includes.
Koul suggests creating compelling spaces accommodating collaborative and centered work to meet workers’ continuous need for human network. He adds this will be the most efficient technique to encourage regular office appearance.
